Rapid take the heat out of the Wimbledon tournament
When the sun shines on Centre Court during Wimbledon, the last thing the teams working behind the scenes at Wimbledon need to worry about is the cooling for all their temporary buildings and studios.
Wimbledon have put their trust in Rapid Climate Control for many years, to provide specialist temporary cooling solutions for different areas within the club.
Outside broadcast vehicles require portable spot coolers, in addition to the vehicles existing air conditioning, to provide targeted cooling on vital equipment. Outside, industrial fans are positioned around the external air conditioning units on the vehicles to help improve air flow around the air intake and discharge outlets.
Split air conditioners are used within marquees on site as the extra long pipe runs allow the condensers to be conveniently sited up to 30m away. Portacabins utilise portable hose type air conditioners to provide instant cooling for the various emergency services accommodated on site throughout the tournament.
The relationship between Rapid and the teams at Wimbledon is built on years of consistently high service levels. Rapid provide specialist cooling solutions that are flexible enough to solve last minute heat issues as they arise. This peace of mind at one of their busiest times is invaluable to the teams at Wimbledon.
